After our gallery walk today, please respond to a few of the following questions:
- Looking over your sticky notes, reflect on today's class, and post a relevant question about creativity and/or learning spaces that starts with "What if...?"
- Ex: What if there were exercise spaces throughout the school (running, yoga, weights, climbing walls, etc.), and there was a 30 minute gap between second and third hour each day to do something physical?
What if we had no grades or expectations?
ReplyDeleteit would be like socialism some people would slack off and would still beneift fom the system, while others work hard and dont gain any advantage over them even though they worked harder
DeleteWhat if the lighting was softer and there was more natural light coming into the school allowing students to feel more awake and refreshed, therefore being more able to focus
ReplyDeletewhat if we still had recess?
ReplyDeleteWhat if we got more classrooms so teachers can all have there own classes in order to decorate and excersize idividule ways of students will learn better, Seating arrangement ex.
ReplyDeleteWhat if we were graded not for our understanding of the content, but for our ability to grow in the knowledge?
ReplyDeleteWhat if every couple of hours we had a break where we could work out, play games like ping pong or pool, or anything else you wanted to do for a brain break?
ReplyDeleteWhat if every classroom was able to be indoor/ outdoor? You would be able to collapse one wall and you be able to be inside to learn or outside and active while you learn.
ReplyDeleteWhat if classroom walls weren't white? What if classes got to paint their walls/do murals and class projects on them? Just like color in hospital rooms speeds up the recovery process and improves the patient's mental health... colorful classrooms could foster creativity and an open mind.
ReplyDeleteWhat if we had a longer lunch allowing kids to get excercise, which could intern allow them to focus better during the rest of the school day
ReplyDeleteWhat if instead of the lights we have now that we would have lamps and more eye sensitive lights that do not cause headaches? or that each desk had a build in personal light that had different settings for how bright you wanted them, like the laptop brightness settings, and then the classroom had no over head lights just a couple lamps?
ReplyDeletewhat if we had classrooms that were shaped differently than the traditional box. For exaple a spherical classrom or a classroom that srt of winds like a road and the walls are curvy?
ReplyDeleteWhat if we learned useful things that can actually be applied to life after high school? Ex. Taxes, Mortgages, Insurance
ReplyDeleteWhat if there were areas in classrooms like the one in the library made specifically for students who want or need to eat during class.
ReplyDeleteWhat if there were more comfortable chairs (yoga balls, cushion chairs, etc) in classrooms, and large windows to provide natural light in said classrooms?
ReplyDeleteWhat if classes were more like the ones from F451 and we learned about sports and the arts?
ReplyDeleteWhat if we had lunch every 20 minutes. That would be cool because I am always hungry and class is boring.
ReplyDeleteWhat if we had longer class periods like an hour 30min with a A day B day squealed so we only had 4periods a day with 30min passing periods and we can use the passing periods how ever we would want so we could go to the school gym or whatever.
ReplyDeleteWhat if our mental health and how we are doing meant more than not doing homework because you were already up until 1 a.m the night before working on homework for 5 other classes and you needed sleep

ReplyDeleteWhat if there were no graduation requirements so that we can take that classes that we want in our four years and they go into the career that we enjoy.
ReplyDeleteWhat if we were allowed to have little snacks during class?
ReplyDeleteWhat if we had outdoor classrooms where there weren't walls but just windows? So there was only natural light and you constantly felt like you were outside
ReplyDeleteWhat if we had 15 min passing periods and a full hour for lunch?
ReplyDeleteI agree with jackson, there is no point in time so far i have been taught to do a w40 or my own taxes, how to manage money, buy a house or any of these things. I feel as if high school should be more of a college environment as far as being able to choose classes that fit you and that will help you later in life instead of busy work classes
ReplyDeleteWhat if we had an hour long lunch?
ReplyDeleteWhat if every classroom was unique (paint color, decor, lighting, etc.) and gave off a different feel than any other classroom?
ReplyDeleteWhat if we got whiteboard desks and whiteboard walls so students can express their thoughts, ideas, emotions, etc. easier and can erase it if they have a better idea?
